Marketplace

The BedShift Marketplace lets hostel owners list their properties publicly so prospective residents can discover, compare, and apply for accommodation.

Publish Your Property

To list your property on the marketplace:

1. Go to Marketplace from the sidebar
2. Click Publish Property
3. Fill in the listing details:
   • Property title: A descriptive name (e.g., "Al-Madina Boys Hostel - Gulberg")
   • Description: Highlight amenities, location, rules, and what makes your hostel special
   • Photos: Upload high-quality images of rooms, common areas, and facilities
   • Pricing: Display your starting monthly rent
   • Amenities: Select from the checklist (Wi-Fi, AC, meals, laundry, parking, etc.)
   • Location: Pin your hostel on the map
4. Click Publish

Your listing goes live on the BedShift marketplace and is visible to anyone searching for accommodation.

Manage Listings

From the Marketplace dashboard you can:

• Edit your listing details, photos, and pricing at any time
• Pause a listing to temporarily hide it from search results
• Unpublish to remove it entirely
• View listing analytics: impressions, clicks, and application counts
• Manage multiple listings if you have more than one property

Listing Status

• Active: Visible on the marketplace
• Paused: Hidden but can be reactivated
• Draft: Not yet published
• Unpublished: Removed from the marketplace

Applications

When a prospective resident applies through your listing:

1. You receive a notification with their application details
2. Go to Marketplace > Applications
3. Review the applicant's information:
   • Name, email, phone
   • Preferred move-in date
   • Preferred room type
   • Any message from the applicant
4. Take action:
   • Accept: Send an acceptance notification and proceed to booking
   • Reject: Decline with an optional reason
   • Waitlist: Add to the waiting list

Accepted applications can be converted directly into bookings with pre-filled resident details.

Reviews

After a resident moves out, they can leave a review for your property:

• Star rating: 1 to 5 stars
• Written review: Their experience in text
• Reviews are displayed on your marketplace listing

Managing Reviews

• View all reviews from Marketplace > Reviews
• Respond to reviews publicly (builds trust with prospective residents)
• Flag inappropriate reviews for moderation
• Your average rating is displayed prominently on your listing
